Coordinator – Student Services (Athletics & Sports Complex)

Reporting to the Director of Student Services, the coordinator is responsible for the coordination and management of professional services. The main areas of responsibility to oversee operations and service delivery include:

  • Ensures that all activities and operations under the sector of Student Life are aligned with the College mission and strategic plan;
  • Coordinates the development, implementation and operations of all Athletic and Recreational programs for students;
  • Selects and recommends for hire, evaluates instructors and coaches for the Athletic program;
  • Coordinates and implements procedures for the evaluation of teams and programs;
  • Coordinates the accommodation and transportation of student athletes;
  • Oversees all operations of the Sports Complex which includes physical education classes, rentals, therapy clinic and Aquatic community program;
  • Participates in meetings of the Reseau du Sport Étudiant (RSEQ) and of the Canadian Collegiate Sports Association (CCAA);
  • Acts as a liaison for the auxiliary services of Super Camp;
  • Serves as College representative on various College committees, such as Health and Safety, and Super Camp Board of Directors, and assumes tasks related to this involvement.

As the ideal candidate, you have a degree in a relevant field and proven experience as a progressive student affairs champion. You bring a deep understanding of the current and emerging issues for students in the post-secondary environment. You are a visionary leader and energetic change manager who can successfully lead teams to develop and lead initiatives, collaborate across administrative and academic units, and inspire a team of dedicated student-focused professionals.

Having an acute understanding of an integrated student services approach and holistic overlay of the academic, social, and emotional needs across the student lifecycle makes you well suited for this opportunity.

The successful candidate will develop and implement operational strategies, goals and objectives, that are aligned with the College mission and strategic plan, and program frameworks.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Coordinates activities and services for the realization of the annual plan objectives;
  • Prepares and submits various reports, and makes recommendations aimed at improving services offered to students;
  • Human resources management (hire, train, assign work, support, supervise and motivate staff);
  • Financial resources management (develop and manage annual budget and expenses)
  • Participates on College committees;
  • Replaces the Director, as needed.

Sch edule : Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (35 hours per week), applicable telework policy, occasional work on certain evenings or weekends.

Classification : Coordinator of Service (C-7)

Salary : $94,026 - $125,366

QUALIFICATIONS: Established in accordance with provisions of Article 7-2.00 of the Policy for Management Personnel.***

  • Bachelor Degree in relevant field (Sports Management, Education, Administration, or other);
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in human resources management and supervision of personnel;
  • Demonstrated recent and relevant experience and expertise in overseeing the operations and delivery of professional services for students;
  • Management experience in a unionized environment would be an important asset;
  • Demonstrated sustained and authentic commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility;
  • Ability to work with confidential information in a professional manner and maintain a high level of discretion;
  • Proven ability to implement change management, in a high-volume, evolving environment;
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational competencies;
  • Excellent English written and oral communications competencies (to be tested);
  • Very good French written and oral communication competencies (to be tested);
  • Intermediate computer skills using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams (to be tested);
  • Knowledge of Clara (an asset);
  • Knowledge of the Québec Cégep Réseau (an asset).
