THE CENTRE FOR CONTINUING EDUCATION is hiring qualified instructors for WINTER 2026 for the ALC North program. This course is delivered from April 27th to May 2nd 2026 in Pingualuit National Park.

NATIVE LANGUAGES (INUKTITUT) (614)

  • Bachelor's or equivalent* degree or native or near native fluency in Inuktitut OR
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field may be considered
  • Strong working knowledge of the Inuktitut language
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
  • Several years related teaching experience preferred
  • Fluency in both English & Inuktitut

* Equivalent establishes a general comparison between two official education systems

In addition to the above:

Successful applicants must Demonstrate knowledge of and commitment to culturally relevant, sensitive, and appropriate pedagogy Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of Inuit culture, history, society and rights Have several years of experience as a practitioner in the related field Have experience living and/or teaching in Inuit communities and/or other Indigenous communities Bilingual (English/Inuktitut or French/Inuktitut) candidates preferred. Several years related teaching experience at the post – secondary level preferred.

N.B. Contracts are offered à la leçon and are contingent upon sufficient student enrollment in each course. The starting date for the course will be determined by the Centre for Continuing Education.

Note: The selection committee may, exceptionally, recommend to the College that pertinent additional professional and/or industrial experience be considered in lieu of the stated minimum educational requirement. Education superior to the stated minimum requirement may be substituted for professional/industrial experience at the discretion of the selection committee.
